is a way of educating tomorrow’s stewards of the Cobbossee Watershed. Utilizing the , the Friends 22’ pontoon boat, as a “floating classroom”, this 3-hour, hands-on experience is held at different sites throughout the Cobbossee Watershed over the course of the summer. Utilizing the same equipment as the ‘pros’, children learn all about watersheds, non-point source pollution and invasive aquatic plants through various activities that include water sampling, testing and interactive games..
Kennebec Savings Bank and Augusta Fuel Company, is open to all entering 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. The cost is just $8 per child, and includes a keepsake T-Shirt (with cool logo), along with a “goodie bag” filled with great items that make for a memorable and lasting experience.
Held on Thursday and Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – noon, the can accommodate up to 12 students per session. The perfect way to spend a beautiful summer morning - can host individuals, groups of friends, recreation departments, daycare programs and even special arrangements for parties outside of the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades (pending availability – please contact our offices if you have any questions).
