Join the Party and enter the Friend's annual Canoe and Kayak Paddle! (Also known as "Spotter's Sprint") This is open for both casual and competitive paddlers. You don't want to miss out on this fun and exciting event! It is the only one of it's kind in the area. Plan to join us on Sunday, August 18, 2013! Download the Flyer & Registration Form Spotter's Sprint is a 1.5+ mile course off the Western Shore of picturesque Lake Cobbosseecontee. The race is open to all casual and competitive paddlers, and there are awards in 30 different category combinations. All paddlers must wear an approved PFD while in the water. There are no exceptions to this important rule. Volunteers will be stationed by boat along the course, and the YMCA has ample parking facilities for participants and spectators. A cookout provided by the YMCA Camp Staff will follow the awards ceremony and is included in the registration fee for all contestants. Spectators are also welcome to attend the cookout for $6/pp and there is no pre-registration required. Last year's event took place on August 19, 2012 at 10:30am at the State YMCA Camp in East Winthrop, Maine. Fify-one participants and numerous spectators enjoyed the beautiful weather, good comraderie and a lot of fun!
