Business After Hours
Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed kicked off 2009's Memorial Day weekend on Wednesday, May 20th by co-sponsoring the May gathering of Business After Hours in collaboration with the Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce. The event was held at Lakeside Motel, Marina and Cabins in East Winthrop, courtesy of Chamber members/proprieters Andy and Sheree Wess. Chamber members enjoyed a hamburger and hotdog cookout and a beer and wine bar, as well as conversation and laughter with friends and business colleagues. Friends' floating classroom, the OTTER II, was present at the event with ice cream aboard for dessert. Boat rides on Cobbosseecontee Lake were given by Clark Marine, and raffle items were donated by area businesses.
