The Otter II

The ever-popular Ice Cream Boat operates each summer from mid-May through mid-October. The original OTTER (2002-2005) and current OTTER II (a 22’ Avalon pontoon boat launched in 2006) moves around each week to one of eleven water bodies of the Cobbossee Watershed, “hosted” by residents who provide us with dock space and an electrical hook-up for our freezers. Since that first summer of 2002, the original OTTER and OTTER II have come in contact with tens of thousands of people, enlisted over 2,000 members and provided valuable information and advice to thousands more on what one can do to help protect the Cobbossee Watershed.

Clark Marine of Manchester, Maine continues to provide major support of the OTTER II, with Hershey Ice Cream supplying the delicious treats each summer! 

Along with our mascot “Spotter the Otter”, The OTTER II will be all over the watershed once again this summer – participating at numerous community events, fairs, parades and gatherings.
